Just another one of those days
(Billy Bob Thornton/JD Andrew)
There's a fire out near Chatsworth, I heard it's under control
But they say there's a wire down blown from a broken light pole
I've watched the news 'til I'm black and blue in the face
Seems there's one thing or another takes up the breathing space
Every time I go outside to have myself a smoke
The air is full of dust, I pretend that's why I choke
Back to the telephone to call an old friend
But they'll just bring up something I can never mend
There's a strong Santa Ano blowin' this way
There's a pine tree by the house looming over its prey
I wonder what will become of that nest of blue jays
The wind tells me it's just another one of those days
When I crack a beer it's a bittersweet sound
It reminds me of when we were both above ground
When I hear the wind I pick up your guitar
Start strumming a tune buut I never get far
On still days I make it through here on my own
But when the wind blows I am joined by your tone
The season is coming whn shadows grow long
'Cause the leaves of october are falling with your sons
There's a strong Santa Ano blowin' this way
There's a pine tree by the house looming over its prey
I wonder what will become of that nest of blue jays
The wind tells me it's just another one of those days
